FAMOUS POUND CAKE

Ingredients:

  • 1 box Duncan Hines butter recipe cake mix
  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream (room temperature)
  • 1 stick butter (room temperature)
  • 5 eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon butter flavoring
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract

How to Make Famous Pound Cake:

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 2: Generously grease a tube or bundt pan with Baker’s Joy.

Step 3: Mix all the ingredients (cake mix, flour, sugar, sour cream, butter, eggs, oil, water, vanilla extract, butter flavoring, and almond extract) until smooth. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 4: Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a fork or toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 to 15 minutes before inverting onto a serving dish.

Step 5: While the cake cools, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth and thick, like nectar.

Step 6: Gradually pour the glaze over the still-warm cake, spreading it with the back of a spoon to allow it to soak in.

Step 7: Slice and enjoy the cake warm or at room temperature!
