How to Make Easy General Tso’s Chicken
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken, egg, white pepper, and 1 tsp of sugar. Toss to mix.
- Gradually add the cornstarch, ensuring the chicken is well coated. You might not need to use all the cornstarch.
- Heat a few inches of oil in a deep skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Carefully add the coated chicken pieces to the hot oil, frying until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on a paper towel-lined rack.
- In a separate bowl, mix the soy sauce, chicken broth, ½ cup sugar, ginger paste, and rice wine vinegar. Stir until well combined.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chili peppers, green onions, orange peel, and garlic, sautéing for 1-2 minutes while stirring frequently.
- Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet and stir to combine.
- Add the dissolved cornstarch to the skillet, stirring until the sauce thickens.
- Finally, add the fried chicken to the skillet and toss to coat thoroughly. Enjoy!
