Italian Crescent Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef, cooked and drained
  • 1 cup Three Cheese Pasta Sauce (or your preferred sauce)
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Italian cheese blend (about 6 oz)
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil leaves

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Meat Mixture: In a skillet, combine the cooked and drained ground beef with the Three Cheese Pasta Sauce. Heat over medium-high, stirring occasionally until it comes to a boil.
  2. Prepare the Crescent Dough: Unroll the crescent dinner rolls and separate them into 8 triangles. Place the dough in an ungreased 9-inch glass pie plate, arranging the triangles in a spoke pattern with the narrow tips overlapping the edge of the plate by about 3 inches. Press the dough into the sides and bottom of the plate to form a crust.
  3. Assemble the Casserole: Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded Italian cheese blend over the dough. Then, spoon the meat mixture evenly on top of the cheese. Bring the tips of the dough over the filling toward the center, but do not overlap them.
  4. Add Final Toppings: Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheese and the dried basil over the casserole.
  5. Bake: Bake in a preheated 375°F oven for 20 minutes, or until the dough is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Enjoy this savory casserole that combines all the comforting flavors of Italian cuisine, with a quick and easy twist!
