Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 packet dry onion soup mix
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Topping:
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
Instructions:
- Prepare the Oats: In a large bowl, combine the oats and milk. Stir well to coat the oats and let them soak for about 15 minutes to absorb the milk.
- Mix the Meatloaf: Add the ground beef, beaten eggs, onion soup mix, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and pepper to the soaked oats. Use your hands to thoroughly combine all the ingredients, making sure the oats are evenly mixed into the meat.
- Form the Loaf: Transfer the meat mixture into a 9×9-inch baking pan. Shape it into a loaf that is about 1 3/4 inches thick.
- Bake the Meatloaf: Place the pan in a preheated 375°F oven and bake for 30 minutes.
- Prepare the Topping: While the meatloaf is baking, mix together the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and yellow mustard in a small bowl.
- Add the Glaze: After 30 minutes, remove the meatloaf from the oven. Brush the glaze over the top and sides of the meatloaf, ensuring it’s fully coated.
- Finish Baking: Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
- Rest and Slice: Once done, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it sit for about 5 minutes before slicing.
