  • 1 (16-ounce) container sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Beef Mixture
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until evenly browned. Drain any excess fat. Add the taco seasoning, minced garlic, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and water. Stir well, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.

Step 2: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

Step 3: Layer the Taco Lasagna

  • Place 6 corn tortillas on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  • Spread 1/3 of the salsa over the tortillas.
  • Add 1/2 of the meat mixture, spreading it evenly over the salsa.
  • Sprinkle 1/2 of the sliced green onions over the meat.
  • Drop 1/2 of the sour cream in small dollops over the green onions.
  • Sprinkle 1/2 cup of Cheddar and 1/2 cup of Monterey Jack cheese over the sour cream.

Step 4: Repeat Layers
Repeat the layers with another 6 tortillas, remaining meat mixture, green onions, sour cream, and an additional 1/2 cup each of Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese.

Step 5: Final Layer
Place the remaining 6 tortillas on top, spread with the remaining salsa, and sprinkle the remaining Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese over the top.

Step 6: Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cheeses are fully melted.

Step 7: Serve
Allow the Taco Lasagna to cool for a few minutes before cutting into squares. Enjoy!
