With layers of oats and chocolate, all topped with a drizzle of even more chocolate, they make a perfect treat. The best part? No baking is required! These bars are ideal not just for summer but for any time of year when you crave a baked-like chocolate and oat treat without turning on the oven.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter

How to Make No-Bake Chocolate Oat Bars

  1. Prepare the Pan: Grease a 9×9 inch square pan.
  2. Make the Oat Layer: In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar and vanilla until combined. Mix in the oats and cook over low heat for 2-3 minutes, until the ingredients are well blended. Press half of the oat mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan, reserving the other half for the topping.
  3. Prepare the Chocolate Layer: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate chips and peanut butter, stirring frequently until smooth. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the oat crust in the pan and spread it evenly.
  4. Finish with the Topping: Crumble the remaining oat mixture over the chocolate layer and press down gently. Cover and refrigerate for 2-3 hours or overnight.
  5. Serve: Let the bars come to room temperature before cutting them into squares. Enjoy!
